Jason Brupbacher is the Chief Executive Officer of B&W Energy Services and one of four founding members. Jason has 20 years of experience in the pre-commissioning cleaning industry. He worked his way from a Field Engineer to Engineering Manager of the Commissioning Group and he did this in the largest Industrial cleaning company in the world.

As a Field Engineer Jason distinguished himself as a hard worker and team player. His work ethic and team-building skills led to his promotion to Engineering Manager for the Commissioning Services Group. As a Manager Jason used his experience and technical expertise to create an elite engineering group. This group ultimately developed a level of engineering and procedure products that had never been seen in the pre-commissioning world.

While Jason grew professionally with his work experience and leadership responsibilities, he also completed his goal to be a Certified Professional Engineer. At the time of this certification, he became one of a kind in the pre-commissioning industry.

During his stint in the Commissioning Group the company he worked for began to focus on operational cleaning which was its core business. Pre-commissioning cleaning and so the Commissioning Group would be dissolved into the various branches and regions.

Jason looked at the direction his employer was headed and felt certain the new philosophy was destined for failure. Along with co-worker Tom Worthy, Jason used his education and experience to set a new course and to hopefully provide an even better service within the industry. The new course and ground-breaking concept became the foundation for B&W Energy Services.

B&W took off in 2002 under Jason’s leadership. The company grew rapidly and by the third year it had already exceeded the initial five year goal. This success was achieved by the company’s technical expertise and also by Jason’s intuition and rapid acquisition of financial and business disciplines.

Using his experience of what works best in this industry Jason spent the last twelve years growing B&W Energy Services from a small engineering consulting firm to an international full service Pre-commissioning Specialty Company. Also during those twelve years Jason received his Construction Contractor Certification from the State of Louisiana.

Jason grew up in New Orleans and then pursued a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University. After graduating from LSU Jason married his Junior High School sweetheart, Allyson. After moving to Houston Allyson began studying law and is now Board Certified in Family Law. They have three children.

Jason has a passion for cooking. It’s been said no one makes a better gumbo. And that may be about his Louisiana heritage but he has also conquered the deliciously satisfying Brazilian Churrasco. For Jason there’s plenty of time for B&W Energy Services and cooking.

Richard (Tim) Kuenstler is the Chief Strategy Officer for B&W Energy Services. As a founding partner of this eleven-year-old company, he comes to this position with experience in sales, marketing, management and operations. Richard worked twenty-three years in the petroleum industry with various technical service companies. Often times the regions and divisions of the companies were in financial and organizational trouble. Richard’s expertise enabled him to salvage what worked and restructure what did not work.

At B&W Richard’s focus has been to develop sales teams and marketing strategies. He has also designed and implemented for B&W Corporate Quality and Safety Management Systems within the industry. He served as project manager on the Tenngiz Chevroil Project in Kazakhstan, which was a transitional project for B&W.

Richard has a Master’s Degree of Science and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science. However, he feels his true education was as a drilling fluids engineer and the owner of a small independent oil company. He obtained skills and insight for organizational development and he also learned to recognize the necessary changes required to save a company on the brink of failure.

The key to simply return to the fundamental principal of good business, ”Do it right and do it right the first time,” is still his guiding principal.

For Richard and his partners at B&W, the goal is to help the client succeed. They do this by providing the highest quality equipment, experienced personnel, and a focused attention to safe execution.

When not working, Richard retreats with Echo to their small farm. He enjoys the completion of a project and shredding with his 1980 Ford tractor. “Doing it right” at the farm means ending the day on the front porch to enjoy a perfect Texas sunset.

John S. Haldane is the Chief Technical Officer of B&W Energy Services and one of the founding members. John has 26 years of experience in the pre-commissioning, commissioning & operational cleaning industry in a wide variety of industrial sectors.

A graduate mechanical engineer from Clarkson University, John began his career as a Field Engineer for a large industrial cleaning company. Through hard work, dedication and technical experience, he rose to the position of Engineer in Charge. During that time, he managed several regional bases for the company, earning the respect of the people in the organization by showing great command of each project. Financial and safety goals were achieved and client satisfaction rose under his guidance.

John was then selected by the company, over many other candidates, to head up the company’s new venture into Nuclear Services. Under a teaming agreement with the largest nuclear equipment manufacturer, multiple multi-million dollar projects were executed on time and within budget restraints. Included in this endeavor was the design and functional testing of a brand new fleet of specialized equipment. Under John’s leadership, this group flourished and became a team in which many of the company’s most distinguished employees wanted to become a part of.

It was after this period when John focused in on pre-commissioning activities. Taking on another new role, he quickly became efficient in engineering these activities and learning many new codes and standards associated with these activities. This is the time period when the founding members of B&W Energy Services were introduced to one another and shortly afterwards the new company was formed.

In the early years of B&W Energy Services, John was instrumental in developing the specialized equipment and also with the execution of the precommissioning activities in the field. He developed a network with owner & engineering company pre-commissioning personnel that would become a very loyal group of B&W clients.

He continues to oversee all of the company’s technical efforts and is a vital member of the management team that moves B&W toward the next level of success.

While not working on company affairs, John supports his two children’s academic & athletic endeavors. His daughter Jessica is a ninth grader and a member of the school softball team. His son John is a tenth grader and a member of the school’s hockey & football teams.

Joel Babin joined B&W Energy Services in May 2007 and has been instrumental in building a strong team of both sales professionals and core employees, ensuring the company’s continued reputation as an industry leader within the pre-commissioning services realm. Joel possesses innate management and leadership skills, traits guaranteeing B&W experiences consistent revenue growth each and every quarter.

Years of prior engineering and sales experience allowed Joel to build a strong foundation of technical knowledge, as well as interpersonal and organization skills, soon leading to his current position as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his current position as C.O.O, Joel worked as B&W’s V.P. of Sales and Marketing. His expertise and professional development led him to succeed in both the sales realm at B&W, and as our Chief Operating Officer. Joel directs and coordinates all company sales, marketing, engineering and operating functions, making sure our team keeps both present and future profitability in mind, all while remaining committed to the end goal of ensuring the company’s vision and mission statements.

Joel possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Eric Martens is the Engineering Team Lead at B&W, and has been with the company since October 2009. Eric is responsible for quality control of all engineering procedures, documents and drawings issued from the office. His other responsibilities include completing engineered procedures when necessary, assisting with sales visits and troubleshooting issues on operational sites. Recently, Eric has been assisting operations with ensuring specialty fabrication work transitions smoothly from the engineering group, to the fabricator and finally to the client’s site.

In 2009 Eric joined B&W as a project engineer and over the next three years worked on many different projects. One was assisting at Shell’s Pearl GTL site to reduce the steam blow durations by finding alternative cleaning methods. Another was an engineering study for the Chevron NCP site in Jubail, KSA. In 2012 Eric moved to the sales group and spent two years bringing in new business, and new clients. One particular project was a new service for B&W, pigging, on a Florida Power and Light job which was FPL’s first foray into pipeline ownership.

Prior to joining B&W, Eric spent 11 years working at HydroChem Industrial Services where he spent time as a project engineer, engineering manager and finally a branch manager. Prior to HydroChem, Eric spent a few years working in the upstream side of the petrochemical business, working as a field engineer for Anadrill-Schlumberger operating MWD tools in horizontal wells in the Austin Chalk and other areas.

Robert Emery is a Senior Project Engineer at B&W, and has been with the company since December 2003 (the first employee hired at the company!). Robert has engineered several large steam blow projects, consisting of 90+ steam blows at refineries and upgraders in five different countries. He is also responsible for engineering chemical cleaning and air blow projects for the company.

Prior to joining B&W, Robert worked for two other industrial service companies and has a total of 19 years of experience. He believes the key to a successful project begins in the engineering of the services being provided, and that begins with the engineering group. For Robert, the success of the company means providing for his children.

Edward Saylor is a Senior Project Engineer and has been with B&W Energy Services since 2008. Prior to joining B&W, Ed worked at HydroChem Industrial Services from 1997 to 2008, and Cajun Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. in New Roads, LA from 1991 to 1996. Ed’s been involved with some of the same people at all three jobs.

Ed graduated with a B.S. of Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1987. He also completed postgraduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Ed has been married for 28 years and has one daughter, who is currently in her second year of college.

Highlights from Ed’s career with B&W include the Shell Scotford Upgrader Expansion Project in Canada, where he was involved in the engineering and fieldwork for the project. He definitely remembers what minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit feels like! The Prelude Project (the largest floating LNG plant) for Technip has also been memorable, with much of the engineering work performed in France and South Korea. Ed finally made it to South America last year, where the Reficar Refinery Project in Colombia was a great experience.

Ed is proud that B&W has been able to incorporate many of the ideas from their fieldwork in the new equipment designs. Some examples that he’s been involved in are the dry noise suppressors, multi-hole orifice plates and tailpipes.

Ed is excited about the future at B&W as we continue to develop new technologies and adapt to our clients’ needs.

Matthew (Matt) McCorkle works as a Draftsman in the engineering group at B&W and has been with the company since January 2012. Matt graduated with a degree in drafting and design from Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas.

Being apart of B&W has been a great experience for Matt, as he’s seen the way the company has grown over the past three years. He has a sense of pride in knowing he works for one of the industry leaders in pre-commissioning services. One of the greatest things about being a draftsman is that Matt is able to be involved in almost every project, since most of them require some form of drawings—whether it is temporary piping isometrics, chemical clean equipment layouts or detailed fabrication drawings.

Outside of working at B&W, Matt enjoys relaxing at home playing computer games, going fishing or spending time on the driving range working on his terrible golf game.

Corey Barclayis a self-motivated, team-oriented and safety-conscious, Tier 4 Technical Advisor for B&W. Corey is tasked with the daily operation of projects at a field level. He handles communication between the client and home office to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and—most importantly—safely. Corey’s dedicated commitment to safety and operational excellence has contributed to the success of B&W projects around the globe.

Prior to joining B&W in January 2008, Corey was directly involved in the construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and maintenance of numerous projects globally, with over 15 years of experience. He started in the industry shortly after high school and cut his teeth in the industry pumping HCL acid into digesters to increase process flow rates.

B&W’s success is how Corey is able to put food on the table. As an industry leader and preferred vender, clients reach out to B&W for help with projects, and Corey feels good being a part of the team. He’s been involved with several major projects at B&W including: OPTI Long Lake-Canada, Habshan 4-AbuDhabi, Shell Houdini-Singapore, Motiva-Port Arthur, and Reficar-Cartagena, Columbia.

Some of Corey’s hobbies include sporting Clays, fishing, anything off-road (ATV’s, Sand rails), drinking beer and lighting fire crackers! He’s definitely known to work hard, and also play hard.

Marcus Liles is a Project Manager in the Aqualazing Division for B&W. He joined the team in December 2011 as a Technical Advisor, working on the Motiva project in Port Arthur, Texas. Since then, Marcus has been on a number of different jobs representing B&W and has provided clients worldwide with one of the company’s quality industrial cleaning services.

B&W’s success is extremely important to Marcus. He feels if he provides clients with the best service possible, B&W will benefit with return work in the same (or different) service lines, meaning more exposure for B&W and more work for the team. Marcus desires for other companies to see B&W on jobs and know from the name that B&W is the best around. Leaving projects with completely satisfied clients is of the utmost importance to Marcus, and what he strives for every time. His hopes and ambitions for B&W are that the company continues to grow and expand, further securing their position as the most successful industrial cleaning service in the business.

Prior to working at B&W, Marcus served as a Logistics Specialist for the U.S. Army. After completing his service, he became a Department of Defense contractor working in Iraq on numerous assignments throughout the country in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

Marcus has been married to his wife, Christina, for three years and has a 12-year-old daughter, Haley. His hobbies include motorcycles, sports and traveling. Marcus is known at B&W for being a very dependable guy who can be counted on to represent B&W in any setting.

Marcus is also nicknamed the ‘Lunch Nazi’ around the office, coined during one of the first projects he worked on. Marcus’ desire to finish the project on time meant he liked to work through lunch…He has since allowed the guys to eat lunch.

Jonathan Negron is a Technical Advisor with the Aqualazing crew at B&W. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 8 years before joining B&W in March 2014. Jonathan believes it’s important that B&W continues to be successful in the industry because it shows integrity and worthiness as a company, and also as a team.

Some of Jonathan’s most important achievements have been his Navy Achievement Medal, his two Sea Service Medals and also becoming a Shell back (crossing the Equator on a Navy vessel).

Jonathan has been married to his wife, Sierra, for 10 years. They currently have four boys—Rylan, Gavin, Aiden and Graycen—but someday hope for a girl. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys going to the shooting range and spending time with his family and friends.

At B&W, Jonathan has earned the nickname “Button Down”. On his first project, Jonathan was told to shut down the pump, “Jon, button down,” and he did—he literally set the button down on the ground. Good laughs.

J.R. Westbrook has many different jobs at B&W—he manages oil flushes, air blows, steam blows and some chemical cleaning. J.R. is currently a tier 4, which is the highest level of achievement for a technical advisor.

Some of J.R.’s major projects at B&W include the Kazakhastan Shell/PFD project, Shell Pearl Phase 1 and 2 in Qatar, and the Motiva Crude Expansion in Port Arthur. He’s been with B&W since 2007, and is quickly approaching his 8-year anniversary this April.

J.R. considers family to be first and foremost, and is happily married with a beautiful wife and two children. J.R.’s wife is currently attending the physical therapy program, while his son is in kindergarten (he loves playing sports), and his daughter just turned one (she’s getting bigger and smarter every day!). Outside of work J.R. is a HUGE Texas Aggie fan, Whoop! He enjoy water sports, disc golfing and hunting, but above all J.R. is a husband and father—which he enjoys most of all.

J.R. is known for his positive attitude and outspoken personality around the office. He sees himself as a “class clown”, but at the end of the day J.R. is known for getting each job done when all else fails. B&W strives to be the best in the industry—and J.R. is along for the ride, and will do whatever it takes to get there.

Over the years he’s taken a lot of training and has learned quite a bit—chemistry, inside knowledge about piping flows of fluids, and many things tech’s deal with on a daily basis in the construction and commissioning industry. Billy believes B&W is the livelihood of his family. He’s driven to do the best on each job because the better the organization, the more security he can provide his family. Therefore, Billy is dedicated to B&W and the top-notch work they do on each project.

Some of Billy’s major projects while at B&W include the Tengiz Chevoil project in Kazakhstan, the Shell ECC upgrade project in Singapore and the Motiva upgrade project in Beaumont, Texas.

Billy is known as someone who is always approachable. His coworkers know they can always go to him for advice, both on and off the job. Billy’s ambitions at B&W are to continue to work and learn. It’s a continuously changing industry, and Billy strives to be a profitable part of the company.

Wallace Greer is B&W’s General Manager for the Middle East Division, where he launched the total division of commissioning and pre-commissioning services, as well as the supply of project management teams. Both of these bring value to our clients, and brings the company to what we strive to be.

Prior to joining the B&W team in 2010, Wallace spent 35 years in the construction and commissioning of paper, power and petro-chemical experiences, with seven years involved in the industrial cleaning industry. Wallace has dedicated the remainder of his career to lead B&W into the success the company is experiencing today. The last year has been the best yet, as B&W continues to grow daily. Above all, Wallace wants to leave a legacy behind and help the next generation ‘get it’.

Wallace has been apart of many projects at B&W—NCP, Ma’aden Project, Tech-nip Project, PCC Nylon Facility—all of which he served as Project Director.

Wallace is dedicated to his family, which keeps him grounded and consistently reminds him of what is truly important in life, how short life can be, and that each minute must be cherished. Outside of B&W, Wallace enjoys horses and the rodeo.

At B&W, Wallace is known for being direct and plainspoken. He is working towards making B&W a total industry supplier of all pre-commissioning and commissioning services. He has changed the Middle East from being known as a specialty cleaning company, to a total provider of the above resources.
