Houston, Texas –– B&W Energy Services is proud to contribute to the Sasol Lake Charles Ethylene Expansion – one of the largest and most complex projects to reach Louisiana in years.
The world-scale petrochemical complex contains an ethane cracker aiming to produce 1.5 million tons of ethane annually, and includes six chemical manufacturing plants. Located in southwest Louisiana, the plant will nearly triple Sasol’s U.S. chemical production capacity, allowing growth in global chemical markets.
B&W Energy Services was extended the opportunity to manage the pre-commissioning cleaning stage of this venture as a result of B&W’s track record of project expansion success along the Gulf Coast.
For this mega project, B&W is engineering and executing site-wide steam blows on the complex steam systems. In addition, B&W is implementing its proprietary AquaLazing service prior to the steam blows in order to reduce the critical path schedule.
“This is our debut project with Sasol, building on the success we’ve had with major ethylene expansion projects in Texas and the Gulf Coast,” said Joel Babin, COO.
