Houston, Texas–November 15, 2019–B&W Energy Services is pleased to announce their recent collaboration with Bechtel on Georgia Power’s Plant Vogtle. B&W is responsible for completing pre-commissioning AquaLazing services on one of the first nuclear units built in the United States in more than 30 years.
Located in Waynesboro, Georgia, this large facility is expected to hold two Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear units, estimated at 1,117 megawatts each. Once complete, each unit is predicted to produce enough safe, reliable and affordable electricity to power 1 million homes and businesses in Georgia, while also providing employment to thousands of residents in their local area.
“Our team is honored to contribute to an important project such as Plant Vogtle, making a large mark in our industry’s history,” said Chris Oakley, B&W’s Director of Sales. “By executing AquaLazing services on one of the first nuclear units built in the United States in the last two decades, we continue to leverage our first-class engineers and service offerings, setting B&W apart from competitors.”
B&W Energy Services pioneered the professional development and advancement of engineered and executed AquaLazing services, with an ongoing commitment to continually improving processes, training and state-of-the-art equipment.
