If you’ve worked with Charles Stewart (better known as “Stew” around the office), you know two things are true: he’s always cracking jokes, and he’s always two steps ahead.
After serving in the Navy as a gas turbine systems technician for 10 years, Charles walked into an interview with B&W and immediately felt at home. That feeling hasn’t changed for the past 10 years he’s been with B&W.
One of Charles’ favorite parts about working at B&W is the camaraderie. From the owners’ open-door policy to the laughs he and his coworkers share, he appreciates how members of the B&W team support each other.
“I work with my ‘brothers’—they’re like family. From the time I walked in, it felt like a family. We’re always helping each other out, no matter what. We have each other’s backs.”
Charles also cites B&W’s commitment to professional growth and development as a key reason he’s enjoyed his time with the company. According to Charles, B&W doesn’t spare expenses on classes to better its employees and stay ahead of the competition. He recently completed the Certified Occupational Safety Specialist program thanks to B&W’s support.
From Kuwait to Colombia, Charles has enjoyed experiencing many different countries and cultures during his time at B&W. As a project manager, he finds it rewarding to navigate the challenges of planning a variety of projects within diverse work environments worldwide.
Outside of work, Charles enjoys hitting the road on his motorcycle any chance he gets (he’s been riding since he was 13). He also loves cheering on the Astros, spending time with friends and visiting his family.
We’ve been lucky to have Charles on our team for the past decade. Thank you for everything you do and the humor you bring to B&W!
