“Better People. Better Equipment. Better Engineering”– At B&W Energy Services, we have a standard of excellence for every aspect of what we do. To ensure this standard is continuously met, our company has been certified as an ISO 9001 company—in other words, B&W is among the ranks of just over one million other companies in 170 countries around the world that put client satisfaction and employee safety first. To provide some perspective, Dunn & Bradstreet used known statistics and estimates from other countries to determine there were approximately 235 million companies in the world in 2013. Using that global figure, less than one-half of one percent of companies in the world are ISO 9001 certified.
“B&W Energy Services has earned a industry-wide reputation for safety and quality services,” COO Joel Babin explained. “Having earned ISO 9001:2008 certification is tangible evidence of our high standards and consistent performance among the top companies in the world.”
Being ISO 9001 certified not only ensures the quality of B&W’s work, but also aligns our efforts with many of our clients who are also ISO 9001 certified—creating a like-mindedness centered around quality excellence.
The ISO 9001 standards have been raised recently, in an effort to continue to ensure that quality management principles are of the utmost importance to certified companies. These principles include a strong customer focus, motivation and example of top management, and implementation of the process approach and continual internal improvement. The new ISO 9001 changes include making risk management the foundation of quality assurance, creating higher standards for leadership performance, establishing knowledge as the key to business development and creating a system for the resource to be managed, and increased evaluation of the stakeholders’ context to ensure that each company is deserving of the ISO 90001 certification.
To meet these new standards, B&W will be transitioning and re-evaluating our quality management procedures and systems over the next six to twelve months. The ISO organization gives businesses until 2018 to implement these guidelines and meet checkpoints and secure their certification, but B&W will present for our certification by the end of 2016.
Our team is excited to continue to provide industry-leading services and be recognized as a company that helps to ensure our customers receive consistent, high-quality services, while also reaffirming our commitment to like-mindedness with our world-class clients.
