TIC contracted B&W Energy Services to provide comprehensive pre-commissioning services for its IPP Renewed project in Delta, Utah. The project involves retiring the IPP site’s existing coal-fueled units, installing new natural gas-fueled electricity generating units capable of utilizing hydrogen and developing hydrogen production facilities.
B&W was contracted to provide chemical cleaning services on two triple-pressure HRSGs within the facility. Our team is also executing pigging and air blows on a fuel gas system while providing AquaLazing services for various areas onsite.
Upon completion, the IPP Renewed project will utilize renewable energy-powered electrolysis and store the hydrogen byproduct in underground salt caverns to fuel electricity-generating turbines. The new natural gas-generating units will transition from using 30% hydrogen fuel at start-up to 100% hydrogen fuel by 2045.
B&W is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with TIC and to contribute to this project within the renewable energy and fuels sector.
