B&W Energy Services is celebrating 13 years in the Middle East. Our growth is a true testament to our determination to become the international premier pre-commissioning cleaning services company in the world. Almost immediately, our ability to support multiple projects was noticed.
Setting up in a new region (Better Engineering, Better Equipment, Better People)
Our ongoing working relationship with Fluor brought us to the region in 2005 to support the Saudi Yanbu Petrochemical Company Expansion Project with Fluor Arabia Ltd. as our acting client. Our services included engineering and continuous steam blow services plant-wide. Our specialized equipment, experienced technicians, detailed engineering and start-to-finish management of the work stood out to the project team and was recognized as the solution to a void in the region.
Our in-country equipment staging begins in 2005
As our exposure became increasingly recognized, we began to support other projects like the Jubail Acetyls Project, Habshan Gas Complex Expansion Project in the UAE and the Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Project. As these projects became larger and more complex, B&W Energy Services established a regional structure and started moving even more equipment in-country to quickly support them.
Continued growth through 2017
With many other projects to follow, such as the National Chevron Phillips (NCP) Project, The Pearl GTL Project in Qatar and the Sadara Project, among others, B&W had earned the reputation as the execution expert in the field of pre-commissioning cleaning. In addition, B&W expanded our technical expertise and support capabilities by branching into commissioning support. With our in-depth knowledge of the systems we were cleaning, it became a value-added service to remain on project during commissioning to support E&I and Mechanical Completions.
Spreading out in the region 2018
In 2018, our presence expanded into Kuwait to support many upcoming petrochemical and power plant projects. With our award of the KNPC Clean Fuels MAB2 Project in Kuwait, the wheels again started to ratchet up with even more equipment moved into the region. Followed with the KNPC Clean Fuels MAA Project award, these honors are true indicators of our ability to simultaneously support multiple projects in the region. With B&W Energy Services already in Kuwait, it gives us a greater opportunity to secure the many other projects slated for that country.
Achieving logistical success
From a marketing regional forecast standpoint, Kuwait’s new project prospects should give us many years of developing partnerships within that region. More KNPC projects will soon follow, along with potentially numerous power plant projects in the works.
The success of our regional plan was further elevated when we brought on Mr. Yasin Harriz as our Regional Manager, stationed in Bahrain. His many years of pre-commissioning cleaning experience in the region made him an excellent choice for our path forward. His knowledge of clients in the region, logistics, personnel and resources in the Middle East will prove to be invaluable to our clients and B&W Energy Services for many years to come. With more upcoming opportunities, we can see many more years of growth in the Middle East.
