Houston, TX—May 20, 2019—B&W Energy Services is proud to announce its involvement with Kiewit in phase two of the Peregrino Project. B&W’s team is currently executing oil flushing services of the rig’s drill deck, as well as in the utilities. The platform is slated to start producing in late 2020 and keep producing for 20 years.
Peregrino oil field is located in the Campos basin licenses BM-C-7 and BM-C-47 in water depths of 100m, approximately 85km off the coast of Brazil. Peregrino phase two development was proposed to aid the rig’s economic flourishing and add approximately 250 million barrels in recoverable resources.
Before phase two began, Peregrino was developed with two wellhead platforms and floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO). A system of pipelines, risers and cables connects the FPSO and the two platforms. Phase two field development adds the third platform, as this area was not previously accessible via the existing two.
“We’re excited to continue our long relationship of supporting Kiewit projects and now doing so offshore is the culmination of our efforts,” said Chris Oakley, Director of Sales at B&W Energy Services. “The Peregrino project further builds our resume of offshore project success.”
