Jason Brupbacher is the Chief Executive Officer of B&W Energy Services and one of four founding members. Jason has 20 years of experience in the pre-commissioning cleaning industry. He worked his way from a Field Engineer to Engineering Manager of the Commissioning Group and he did this in the largest Industrial cleaning company in the world.

As a Field Engineer Jason distinguished himself as a hard worker and team player. His work ethic and team-building skills led to his promotion to Engineering Manager for the Commissioning Services Group. As a Manager Jason used his experience and technical expertise to create an elite engineering group. This group ultimately developed a level of engineering and procedure products that had never been seen in the pre-commissioning world.

While Jason grew professionally with his work experience and leadership responsibilities, he also completed his goal to be a Certified Professional Engineer. At the time of this certification, he became one of a kind in the pre-commissioning industry.

During his stint in the Commissioning Group the company he worked for began to focus on operational cleaning which was its core business. Pre-commissioning cleaning and so the Commissioning Group would be dissolved into the various branches and regions.

Jason looked at the direction his employer was headed and felt certain the new philosophy was destined for failure. Along with co-worker Tom Worthy, Jason used his education and experience to set a new course and to hopefully provide an even better service within the industry. The new course and ground-breaking concept became the foundation for B&W Energy Services.

B&W took off in 2002 under Jason’s leadership. The company grew rapidly and by the third year it had already exceeded the initial five year goal. This success was achieved by the company’s technical expertise and also by Jason’s intuition and rapid acquisition of financial and business disciplines.

Using his experience of what works best in this industry Jason spent the last twelve years growing B&W Energy Services from a small engineering consulting firm to an international full service Pre-commissioning Specialty Company. Also during those twelve years Jason received his Construction Contractor Certification from the State of Louisiana.

Jason grew up in New Orleans and then pursued a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University. After graduating from LSU Jason married his Junior High School sweetheart, Allyson. After moving to Houston Allyson began studying law and is now Board Certified in Family Law. They have three children.

Jason has a passion for cooking. It’s been said no one makes a better gumbo. And that may be about his Louisiana heritage but he has also conquered the deliciously satisfying Brazilian Churrasco. For Jason there’s plenty of time for B&W Energy Services and cooking.

Richard (Tim) Kuenstler is the Chief Strategy Officer for B&W Energy Services. As a founding partner of this eleven-year-old company, he comes to this position with experience in sales, marketing, management and operations. Richard worked twenty-three years in the petroleum industry with various technical service companies. Often times the regions and divisions of the companies were in financial and organizational trouble. Richard’s expertise enabled him to salvage what worked and restructure what did not work.

At B&W Richard’s focus has been to develop sales teams and marketing strategies. He has also designed and implemented for B&W Corporate Quality and Safety Management Systems within the industry. He served as project manager on the Tenngiz Chevroil Project in Kazakhstan, which was a transitional project for B&W.

Richard has a Master’s Degree of Science and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science. However, he feels his true education was as a drilling fluids engineer and the owner of a small independent oil company. He obtained skills and insight for organizational development and he also learned to recognize the necessary changes required to save a company on the brink of failure.

The key to simply return to the fundamental principal of good business, ”Do it right and do it right the first time,” is still his guiding principal.

For Richard and his partners at B&W, the goal is to help the client succeed. They do this by providing the highest quality equipment, experienced personnel, and a focused attention to safe execution.

When not working, Richard retreats with Echo to their small farm. He enjoys the completion of a project and shredding with his 1980 Ford tractor. “Doing it right” at the farm means ending the day on the front porch to enjoy a perfect Texas sunset.

John S. Haldane is the Chief Technical Officer of B&W Energy Services and one of the founding members. John has 26 years of experience in the pre-commissioning, commissioning & operational cleaning industry in a wide variety of industrial sectors.

A graduate mechanical engineer from Clarkson University, John began his career as a Field Engineer for a large industrial cleaning company. Through hard work, dedication and technical experience, he rose to the position of Engineer in Charge. During that time, he managed several regional bases for the company, earning the respect of the people in the organization by showing great command of each project. Financial and safety goals were achieved and client satisfaction rose under his guidance.

John was then selected by the company, over many other candidates, to head up the company’s new venture into Nuclear Services. Under a teaming agreement with the largest nuclear equipment manufacturer, multiple multi-million dollar projects were executed on time and within budget restraints. Included in this endeavor was the design and functional testing of a brand new fleet of specialized equipment. Under John’s leadership, this group flourished and became a team in which many of the company’s most distinguished employees wanted to become a part of.

It was after this period when John focused in on pre-commissioning activities. Taking on another new role, he quickly became efficient in engineering these activities and learning many new codes and standards associated with these activities. This is the time period when the founding members of B&W Energy Services were introduced to one another and shortly afterwards the new company was formed.

In the early years of B&W Energy Services, John was instrumental in developing the specialized equipment and also with the execution of the precommissioning activities in the field. He developed a network with owner & engineering company pre-commissioning personnel that would become a very loyal group of B&W clients.

He continues to oversee all of the company’s technical efforts and is a vital member of the management team that moves B&W toward the next level of success.

While not working on company affairs, John supports his two children’s academic & athletic endeavors. His daughter Jessica is a ninth grader and a member of the school softball team. His son John is a tenth grader and a member of the school’s hockey & football teams.

Joel Babin joined B&W Energy Services in May 2007 and has been instrumental in building a strong team of both sales professionals and core employees, ensuring the company’s continued reputation as an industry leader within the pre-commissioning services realm. Joel possesses innate management and leadership skills, traits guaranteeing B&W experiences consistent revenue growth each and every quarter.

Years of prior engineering and sales experience allowed Joel to build a strong foundation of technical knowledge, as well as interpersonal and organization skills, soon leading to his current position as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his current position as C.O.O, Joel worked as B&W’s V.P. of Sales and Marketing. His expertise and professional development led him to succeed in both the sales realm at B&W, and as our Chief Operating Officer. Joel directs and coordinates all company sales, marketing, engineering and operating functions, making sure our team keeps both present and future profitability in mind, all while remaining committed to the end goal of ensuring the company’s vision and mission statements.

Joel possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Ed Dill is B&W’s Health, Safety, Training & Quality Manager, meaning he’s the man who keeps everything at B&W in compliance. Ed joined the B&W team in September 2009 and he’s responsible for some of the most important parts of each project the company takes on—making sure every single aspect is safe and in compliance throughout the entire process.

Ed cut his teeth with B&W at the Shell Pearl Project in Qatar, and afterwards was called back to the B&W home office to start the Health, Safety, Training & Quality Department. Prior to joining the B&W team, Ed served as a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard for more than 20 years.

Ed has a number of professional achievements most recently—he’s certified through University of Texas at Arlington OSHA Education Center as; Safety, Health & Environmental Professional (SHEP), an Certified Safety & Heath Official in both the Construction Industry and General Industry (CSHO), an Specialist in Safety & Health (SSH), and a Specialist in Environmental Regulations (SER).

Ed’s currently enrolled in a Master Certificate HSE program with UTA. He’s married with two children and lives in Galveston, Texas. Outside of B&W, Ed’s a big NASCAR fan and follows car #88.

Robert Emery is a Senior Project Engineer at B&W, and has been with the company since December 2003 (the first employee hired at the company!). Robert has engineered several large steam blow projects, consisting of 90+ steam blows at refineries and upgraders in five different countries. He is also responsible for engineering chemical cleaning and air blow projects for the company.

Prior to joining B&W, Robert worked for two other industrial service companies and has a total of 19 years of experience. He believes the key to a successful project begins in the engineering of the services being provided, and that begins with the engineering group. For Robert, the success of the company means providing for his children.

Edward Saylor is a Senior Project Engineer and has been with B&W Energy Services since 2008. Prior to joining B&W, Ed worked at HydroChem Industrial Services from 1997 to 2008, and Cajun Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. in New Roads, LA from 1991 to 1996. Ed’s been involved with some of the same people at all three jobs.

Ed graduated with a B.S. of Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1987. He also completed postgraduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Ed has been married for 28 years and has one daughter, who is currently in her second year of college.

Highlights from Ed’s career with B&W include the Shell Scotford Upgrader Expansion Project in Canada, where he was involved in the engineering and fieldwork for the project. He definitely remembers what minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit feels like! The Prelude Project (the largest floating LNG plant) for Technip has also been memorable, with much of the engineering work performed in France and South Korea. Ed finally made it to South America last year, where the Reficar Refinery Project in Colombia was a great experience.

Ed is proud that B&W has been able to incorporate many of the ideas from their fieldwork in the new equipment designs. Some examples that he’s been involved in are the dry noise suppressors, multi-hole orifice plates and tailpipes.

Ed is excited about the future at B&W as we continue to develop new technologies and adapt to our clients’ needs.

Matthew (Matt) McCorkle works as a Draftsman in the engineering group at B&W and has been with the company since January 2012. Matt graduated with a degree in drafting and design from Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas.

Being apart of B&W has been a great experience for Matt, as he’s seen the way the company has grown over the past three years. He has a sense of pride in knowing he works for one of the industry leaders in pre-commissioning services. One of the greatest things about being a draftsman is that Matt is able to be involved in almost every project, since most of them require some form of drawings—whether it is temporary piping isometrics, chemical clean equipment layouts or detailed fabrication drawings.

Outside of working at B&W, Matt enjoys relaxing at home playing computer games, going fishing or spending time on the driving range working on his terrible golf game.

Carlos Padua started working at B&W in 2011 as a draftsman, and is now an Engineering Technician. He has happily married to his wife Kimberly, and they have three children—Gabriel, Camila and Sabrina. Outside of working at B&W, Carlos enjoys playing golf, fishing, softball and playing with his kids.

Jonathan Negron is a Technical Advisor with the Aqualazing crew at B&W. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 8 years before joining B&W in March 2014. Jonathan believes it’s important that B&W continues to be successful in the industry because it shows integrity and worthiness as a company, and also as a team.

Some of Jonathan’s most important achievements have been his Navy Achievement Medal, his two Sea Service Medals and also becoming a Shell back (crossing the Equator on a Navy vessel).

Jonathan has been married to his wife, Sierra, for 10 years. They currently have four boys—Rylan, Gavin, Aiden and Graycen—but someday hope for a girl. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys going to the shooting range and spending time with his family and friends.

At B&W, Jonathan has earned the nickname “Button Down”. On his first project, Jonathan was told to shut down the pump, “Jon, button down,” and he did—he literally set the button down on the ground. Good laughs.
