B&W Awarded Contract on the Bulo Bulo Ammonia Plant Project in Bolivia
HOUSTON, Texas—June 10, 2016—B&W Energy Services continues to grow into South America with their latest project—the Bulo Bulo Ammonia Project in Cochabamba, Bolivia. B&W was awarded a contract with Samsung Engineering to provide AquaLazing and Chemical Cleaning services on site. B&W executed a nearly immediate mobilization and turnaround of resources for the Bulo Bulo project, having equipment on site in Bolivia within two weeks of contract execution.
“We are proud to announce that B&W has been selected to support this project,” said Chris Oakley, Sales Director at B&W Energy Services. “The relationships we’ve built in South America over the past several years have taken root and we look forward to further expansion in the region,” Oakley said.
The Bulo Bulo ammonia-urea facility will be Bolivia’s first petrochemical venture. This new facility is expected to produce sufficient urea/ammonia supplies for domestic demand and will provide surplus product for export. Investment for the new ammonia-urea facility is estimated at $844 M.
Prior to the Bulo Bulo project, B&W has worked on two ammonia plant projects in Iowa and Louisiana, making it the third major ammonia plant construction project B&W has been awarded recently. The project is expected to last through the summer.
