HOUSTON, Texas–June 9, 2015-B&W Energy Services has been contracted by Zachry Industrial to provide continuous steam blow and air blow services at the new 1,250MW Port Everglades Next Generation Clean Energy Center (PEEC) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Owned by Florida Power and Light Company, the PEEC project will replace the existing Port Everglades power plant originally built in the 1960s.
“We are very excited to team up with Zachry for our third major clean energy project with Florida Power and Light,” said Chris Oakley, Director of Sales at B&W “This project is a valuable addition to our growing portfolio in the domestic clean energy market,” Oakley said.
B&W is building on their previous success with Zachry and Florida Power and Light. The PEEC will feature a natural gas-fired combined cycle unit and other ancillary equipment. B&W initiated the engineering phase in April and mobilized on June 1 for the first phase of field services. B&W’s scope of services will happen during a very a critical phase of the project life cycle, and remains fully committed to successful project start-up.
