Houston, TX—June 9, 2019—The B&W Energy Services team is proud to announce three continued scopes of work for partner projects across the United States.
The first, a combination of hydrotesting services, is for Duke Energy’s Asheville 2-on-1 combined-cycle natural gas plant for the EPC contractor McDermott Power and CB&I. The 560-megawatt plant was built to accommodate growth and demand in the area, feeding energy to benefit customers in North and South Carolina. B&W’s hydrotesting services will prepare the plant to effectively provide its customers with reliable and increasingly clean energy.
The second is a tight turnaround project for Celanese Clear Lake acetyl intermediates manufacturing facility. B&W is executing an oil flush as part of the facility’s GE turbine overhaul. The B&W team is proud to boast a strong history with Celanese and to have earned the honor as a trusted service provider. The unit, with a capacity of 1.3 million metric tons, utilizes abundant, low-cost natural gas in the U.S. Gulf Coast region as a feedstock.
Finally, the B&W team is performing pneumatic testing and air blow services on a new fuel gas line at the Edward W. Clark Generating Station for NV Energy, just outside of Las Vegas. NV Energy called in B&W to test and clean their new fuel gas line on an expedited schedule line before it becomes operational. The facility, a multi-technology natural gas-fueled power generating complex with 19 generating units, can produce enough electricity to serve approximately 665,000 Nevada households.
“Our team has the experience and backing to perform this diverse and efficient collection of services,” said Chris Oakley, Director of Sales for B&W Energy Services. “In Texas, North Carolina, Nevada and beyond, our partners depend on B&W for better equipment and better service every time.”
