Billy Williams was inspecting a piece of equipment on a job site in Omaha when a young woman approached him. She said hello, and he greeted her back. “You don’t remember me, do you?” He apologized, admitting that he didn’t.
As it turns out, they had worked on a job together six or seven years prior. He explained that he’d been to hundreds of places and worked with thousands of people since, and she took no offense. “But I remember you,” she said. “You are one that’s hard to forget.”
With his approachable demeanor and strong work ethic, this story may not surprise those who know him. Billy worked as a roughneck on several drilling rigs at a young age. When he turned 23, he entered the industrial services division.
Billy worked with the founders of B&W Energy Services before B&W even existed. He was there in its infancy and watched the vision for the company unfold. He enjoyed the people and wanted to come along for the ride, so he did. He’s been with B&W ever since.
“We function more as a family than anything else.”
“The work environment at B&W is so open and helpful. Everyone is eager to assist and answer questions,” Billy says. “We have an open door policy from the C-suite down, and I’ve always appreciated that. I also appreciate the flexibility — that’s one of the greatest gifts B&W has given me.”
As a talent development specialist, Billy serves as an “all-around guy” for the company. One of the most important aspects of his role is training new employees through B&W’s mentoring program. He enjoys getting to know new team members and imparting his knowledge to secure the future of the company.
Outside the office, Billy enjoys woodworking and is an avid hunter. More than anything, he loves spending time with his wife, three children, seven grandchildren and his great-granddaughter.
