HOUSTON, Texas—January 4, 2016—B&W Energy Services recently announced a new contract award with ExxonMobil in Baytown, Texas. B&W will be performing steam blow and AquaLazing services for ExxonMobil’s Baytown Olefins Plant expansion.
“This project is a tremendous opportunity for us since we will be working directly with ExxonMobil,” said Joel Babin, Chief Operating Officer of B&W. “This project brings forth a new relationship between ExxonMobil and B&W, and it’s something we’re incredibly proud of,” Babin said.
ExxonMobil is expanding capacity on their olefins plant facility in Baytown, Texas. The construction of a multi-billion dollar ethane cracker began in 2014, and the new steam cracker will have a capacity of up to 1.5 million tons per year. The plant will be ready in late 2016, and ExxonMobil says they expect to begin production at the facility in 2017.
“We are excited about this new relationship with ExxonMobil and what else it could bring in the future,” said Chris Oakley, Director of Sales and Engineering for B&W.
