At B&W Energy Services, one of the many ways we deliver real impact for our clients is through our proprietary equipment, designed exclusively by our in-house engineering team.
Pre-commissioning and maintenance cleaning projects often take place in complex industrial environments where schedules are tight and the abilities to mobilize quickly and begin work the moment you arrive on-site is essential.
To help meet these demands, B&W developed specialized equipment skids that package entire cleaning systems into modular, easily transportable units.
What Are Modular Equipment Skids?
Modular equipment skids are frames designed to support and integrate multiple components into a single transportable system. Pumps, filtration units, piping, valves, heating exchangers and any other pieces of equipment required to conduct the pre-commissioning or maintenance cleaning task at hand are all mounted on a skid so it functions as a complete unit.

When we began designing our modular equipment, a crucial step was reviewing each piece of equipment from both technical and execution perspectives. To this day, John Haldane, our chief technical officer, ensures that all equipment is exclusively designed with our strategic approach in mind. The result is more effectively and efficiently executed pre-commissioning cleaning programs, no matter the method we use.
Part of this strategic approach means that our equipment is built on our equipment skids for rapid mobilization. Whether it’s air blowing equipment, steam blowing equipment or high-velocity oil flushing equipment, all components necessary to execute the project are packaged into these skids so that they’re ready as soon as they reach your facility.
Our modular equipment skids benefit projects through:
- Reducing setup time by minimizing field assembly requirements
- Decreasing the cost associated with movements between cleaning events
Allowing equipment to be easily loaded and shipped in containers anywhere in the world
